Red Elm Burl Turbulence - An exquisite burl with exposed inclusions that add a dynamic element to the flowing profile, where the boiling, unstructured pattern of the burl is offset by the refined profile. This bowl measures 7 x 4 and is polished with no finish.

Zebra Wood - A simple, flowing shape complements the fantastic grain pattern of this quarter-sawn zebra wood.  This bowl measures 6 x 2 and is finished in oil.

Tamarind - This heavily spalted southeast Asian wood is remarkable to turn, and even more remarkable in finished form.  Adorned with a beautiful three-dimension glass ball crafted by an Indiana glass artist, the delicate spalting pattern contrasts against a creamy-white background.  This piece is affectionately called Antithesis, from the crafting techniques of the wood bowl and the glass globe (subtractive and additive).   This bowl measures 6 x 2 and is finished in oil.

Redwood - Sensual in its simplicity, the shape empahsizes the strong grain pattern of this redwood specimen.  A pleasure to hold and feel the undulating grain.   Measuring 5.5 x 3, finished in oil and wax.

Spalted Maple Sculpture - With the retained rectangular profile shaped in a flowing form, this spalted maple sculpture measures 5 x 5 x 1.5, finished in oil and wax.

Flame Maple - With a profile to show off the quilted grain, this flame maple bowl measures 8.5 x 2, finished in lacquer and wax.

Butternut - An exceptional example of worm intrusions with many passing completely through the finished piece.  Clean, free-form bowl with simple lines is suitable as a display piece. Measuring 7.5 x 4, finished in oil and wax.

Maple - Lightly spalted with a small number or worm holes, this large maple plate has an incredible balance of light and dark-colored sections with some quilting.  Measuring 10 x 2, finished in oil and wax.

Butternut - A cousin to Walnut, Butternut is an open-grained golden colored wood.  This piece has a few worm holes, slight spalting. Measuring 7.5 x 4, finished in oil and wax.

Butternut - Fantastic grain patterns and the tiered profile make for unique bowl.  A cousin to Walnut, Butternut is an open-grained golden colored wood. Measures 7.5 x 4, finished in oil and wax.

Ambrosia Maple - This spalted Ambrosia Maple bowl is affectionately called the "Boule Bowl." I really enjoy turning maple, and this was no exception. In fact, it surpased my expectations when the shape revealed a fantastic spalting pattern.
It's 7.5" in diameter, and rises 4". Finished with only a light carnauba wax over the polished wood leaves the piece in its natural colorings.

Maple - This small carving of a bowl-in-a-board is 6 x 3 x 1.  Turning a bowl with the rectangular shape of the blank left intact requires special attention while turning.  The maple used has a few worm holes and some spalting.  Finished in oil and wax.

Maple - Breakers.  The unusual grain patterns from an embedded limb results in a fantastic display plate.  Crafted from rock maple collected in Michigan, there are a few worm holes and minor spalting.  Measuring approximately 9 x 1 and finished only with a light wax.
Walnut - The unusual shape and clean lines of this straight-grained Black Walnut makes this suitable as either a functional or display piece.   The open grain pattern of the wood is enhanced with several applications of oil and wax over polished wood. Size: 8.25" x 2.5"
Walnut - This natural-edge bowl contains the dark heartwood, light-colored sapwood, and bark layer all in proportion to each other.  Measuring approximately 7" x 4.5" x 3", it is finished in a low-goss oil finish.  An exceptional piece originally turned green and allowed to further distort in the drying process.
